The Big Boy Beds are lots of fun, but Jackson and Shane don't seem to be sleeping in them, they rather sleep on the floor curled up in a ball on top of each other. Last night i went in to check on them and Shane was asleep on top the foot rest and Jackson was on the floor! Obviously I picked them up and put them into their beds but for some reason they love the floor and most recent as today- sleeping in front of the door! I know other people have been challenged in keeping their children in bed so i guess this just adds to it.
Both of the boys are starting to learn opposites- In and Out and today Up and Down. It is fun to see them piece these things together.
This morning we visited Grandma and Grandpa and had a great time. The boys played with the kitty and had a blast playing with the remote control lights in the bedroom.

Misc.
Shane in the snow at Payson Rd.
Jackson at the snowmanJackson and Shane have really started playing together. Yesterday was a big snow day so we were all in the house. The boys High Fived each other without prompting and also played "catch" without prompting. On occasion they give each other "loves" which is a hug on their own but it is usually after one of them has done something to the other one.
Boston had 18 inches of snow so above are some photos of the fun in the snow!

Big Boy Beds
Our Big Boy Beds have arrived and oh what fun Jackson and Shane are having with them. We are getting there on going to sleep but they have FUN when they go into their room. The first night we had the beds (they are in parallel in their room) they were jumping and laughing and having a great time until Shane fell and got a bloody nose- it was bound to happen at some point. So now, we are working on staying in bed, here is a story from Nana who watched the boys yesterday and put them down for their nap.
Off we went upstairs for nap time with no problem, Shane got into his bed and Jackson his. A second later Shane is in Jacksons bed and Jackson pushes him off while saying NO. Shane goes back to his bed. Nana told the boys that they could not get out of bed and their feet could not touch the floor. O.K. sounds good until Jackson drops something on the floor- he looked at Nana who replied- "don't you get out of bed". So Jackson reached as far as he could reach across the floor to pick up his monkey and Shane decided to help (since 3/4 of Jackson's body was out of the bed) so Shane reached out of his bed to hold Jackson's head up and continued to say "up, up,up". Eventually Jackson fell out of the bed, looked at Nana and speedily picked up Monkey and got back into bed. I guess Shane decided this was a good time for him to hop over so he scooted into Jackson's bed as that time and Jack let him stay.

Must be fun being a twin?
It must be fun in some ways to be a twin, always having someone to play with and to "talk" to.
I noticed last night that Shane and Jackson are really playing and interacting with each other- they played blocks and legos together while they were talking! It was amazing and interesting to watch.
At night, well I think they like to have someone to get into trouble with. We purchased big boy beds over the weekend and they will be delivered tomorrow but for now the boys are sleeping on mattresses on the floor- they have free reign of their room and they love it! Last night at bed time I stayed in the room to get them settled and hopefully to sleep, I was not successful but it was cute to watch their interactions. They would lie down- very close to one another and then out of the blue Shane would start to rub/pat Jackson's back- he would do this off and on. At one point Jackson gave Shane a hug and a kiss. Very cute and loving but they would not go to sleep!
Eventually at 9pm they fell asleep!

End of an Era
It is official, Shane and Jackson are climbing out of their cribs! Oh no.
Keith and I were taking down the Christmas tree and vacuuming so we couldn't hear them to begin with but thought it was very quite up stairs. Then we heard the toilet flushing- we book it up the stairs to find two little boys in the bathroom flushing the toilet and laughing- they were having a great time and just smiling.
We took the mattresses out of the cribs and showed them how to lay down on just the mattress and they just started jumping around and laughing. They are in their room now and I can hear them talking I don't think they will take much of a nap today and I am not looking forward to seeing the condition of their room when i go in there. Happy New Year!
