Misc.

Last night Jackson saw a red van drive by and said: Daddy's van? too cute (daddy drives a red van).
Shane played peek a boo with a stranger when we went out for ice cream for about 15 minutes- adorable to watch. They both seemed so sweet. And then bed time came and those sweet little boys were no where to be found. We had lots of screaming and crying last night for a long time and for no reason. Eventually everyone was settled but around 11pm it started all over again. Ah, and big sigh, I don't' know what else to say about that one.

Tonight we went bike riding! We got the boys tricycles for easter and helmets of course. Daddy and mommy basically just pushed the bikes around the block- Jackskon only made it half way but Shane went all the way up to see the diggers. We met a new neighbor on the way home. Keep ringing those bells boys! You'll be riding solo before we know it.

Swimming Lessons

Today was our first day of swimming lessons! Both Shane and Jackson did pretty good. Jackson was a little afraid at first but then he got more into it; Shane was all smiles all of the time. Shane even went down the slide into the pool! I think what was more difficult was getting everyone ready for and after the swimming lesson- that took coordination and patience! Someone from work told me to be sure to bring my video camera and to take lots of photos- I just smiled thinking to myself that we'll be lucky to get through the class, forget about pictures! And I feel very proud that we did get through the class and everything that comes with it. Until next week......

Today was full of firsts- we went to Monkey Joe's for a Birthday Party and Shane really liked saying Monkey Joe? (a lot). This place is full of bouncy houses- of all shapes and sizes- there was a small area for little kids but it is really a big kid place. Well our little Shane didn't want to be a little kid any more and he followed the big kids right into the big bouncy houses! He climbed up tall steps to go sliding down in laughter and screams down BIG slides. Parents aren't allowed in the bouncy houses so in order to get Shane out we had to find someone who worked there to go in and pull him out! Shane was not happy. Jackson was also very brave in the bouncy houses but Jackson was more like- I'll go up the latter two rings and then come down but Jackson was laughing the entire day!

Daddy took both boys to Home Depot to get some things to fix the screen door. The boys have figured out how to open the door to the porch and since the screen has been ripped off then can climb right out there- its crazy! I can't even fix supper and think that they are O.K. in the play room, even more I can't even get them inside to eat supper! I get one in the house and the other takes off around the porch, pick him up and in the meantime the other one has crawled out the door! It is never dull around here. Back to sorting clothes- you boys are getting so big so fast i think we are already into 3T clothes! and I realized today that I need to buy you some play shoes that fit you. Love and Kisses- Mommy.

Don't go mommy

Both boys are saying more words every day. This morning when Nana came over to mind them and I was trying to leave for work Shane said "Don't go work mommy"- ugh! broke my heart to hear him say that, he was so sweet with his words and so sincere. Never the less I sat down for a few minutes then I had to leave for work.

During this time, Jackson was helping with the laundry and wanted to hang a dish towel on his play sink- he searched long and hard to find the perfect spot for that towel and he was able to hang it on the front door of his refrigerator. Jackson was being a very good helper this morning, while Shane watched the royal wedding on t.v.

The Princes of Belmont

Nana always says that Jackson and Shane are her princes of Belmont. Well this morning we broke all of the rules and watched the newest Royal Wedding- the wedding of Prince William and Catherine the commoner as they called her.

Shane pulled the cushions off the couch and sat watching with excitement saying I see castle, I see castle- too cute. I doubt you boys will remember this day as you are only 2.5 years but maybe someday we will talk about this morning and look at the pictures together. I know that I will not forget the looks on your faces watching the wedding on television.

Shane and Auntie drawing and taking a break for a hug and a kiss. Long day of play, both boys fell asleep while watching ELMO- the were dead asleep and didn't wake up until we got them into bed.

Cozy Coupe fun. Auntie took a video of the boys playing in the cozy coupe and laughing histerically. I might post it to U-Tube it was so funny to watch.

Belmont Winter Carnival

We went to the winter carnival at the High School. We got balloons and played lots of games. Shane playing catch the ducks with Trish.

Loving the ball pit. The objective was to find a ball with the W on it to win a prize. But my little guys decided that throwing the balls was more fun.

Rainy Saturday

Saturday morning we drove to Stoneham and had breakfast with Nana at Bickfords- it was surprisingly fun and relatively calm- the boys had a lot to look at and ate a good breakfast of fruit, milk and some pancakes.

We decided to go to the pond in Winchester and go for a walk and play in the park for a bit. We got there and then it started to rain- it was also like 40 degrees outside- cold and rainy is not my idea of fun, but Nana thought it was wonderful. We played in the park for a long time then Jackson and Nana went for a walk. As soon as Shane noticed they were gone, he stood up and started yelling Naana, Jackson- where go mommy? So we followed them and eventually caught up to them (by now it was really raining) and we got to the pond and saw some ducks, well actually a big white male swan. The swan swim over to us from across the way - we think he must have been looking for food and started quacking and spread his feathers for a good stretch right in front of us. Jackson didn't like this so he went up the hill but Shane thought it was fascinating to watch. When the swan realized we didn't have any food for him, he swam away.

In the meantime, Jackson started across the field- a wet muddy field. Both boys had raincoats and rain boots on so they were dry and warm. But the field was full of puddles, and Jackson thought it was great he was jumping in them and at one point the puddles were almost up to his knees! Jackson seemed to be able to navigate through the puddles O.K. but Shane kept getting stuck in the mud and falling into the cold puddles. Mommy and Nana were soaked. The boys didn't care, once they made it back to the playground they played there for a while and then after an hour or two I called it- it was time to go home. Cold and Wet we piled into the car and headed for home.

Easter

Jackson

We had a great Easter, the boys ate a lot of food- not all of it was nutritious growing food either.
In the morning Grandpa Bill came over for a visit and of course he brought Dunkin Doughnuts- both Jackson and Shane squealed with excitement when they saw Grandpa from across the street- and they each had a frosted doughnut! Grandpa also brought over dancing chickens- what fun these are- the boys love them.

Daddy took Jackson and Shane to visit Grandma in the hospital and then they worked out in the yard for a while. Both boys were very very busy shoveling sand that had gotten out from the sandbox! Shovel shovel shovel and when they came in - they were so muddy we had to change clothes!

Nana, Uncle Adam and Uncle Dave came over for dinner and we had lots of fun. I think the boys had chocolate and animal crackers for dinner- Snowball got the ham and green beans. Uncle Adam and Uncle Dave brought over these pet hamsters that run around and talk and the boys had fun with these- between the talking Chicken, Talking Hamsters and the spoon clappers that Nana brought we have a lot of new noise making things in the Bryant Household.
It was a great Easter and oh yeah! We talked on the iphone to Ohio so we could see every one's faces on the phone- that was awesome- Jackson and Shane just kind of stared at the phone but it was neat to see the kids- they were dancing for the boys and having lots of fun.

Misc.

The other day I went in to get the boys up from their nap and found the following scene. Jackson was butt naked asleep on the bed and Shane was no where to be found. I checked under the bed, behind the chair, in the closet, on the bureau and No Shane. I woke Jackson up and asked where was Shane and then I noticed a bump on the bed- Shane got UNDER the mattress cover and then covered himself back up- NOT good! it was a scene I'll tell you.

Jackson 30 months

My dear little Jackson-
You are now 30 months old and sometimes I can really tell. You my little guy are getting older and wiser every day. Don't get me wrong, you still like to lie on the floor and yell, take things from your brother and scream (sometimes you bite). But there are other times that you like to share and you love to play with other kids. Very often, Shane will ask for something and you will go get it for him. Then you ask him in a cute little voice to share: "Share Shane?" , sometimes he will share and when he doesn't well, you just take it from him and run.

ELMO is still a favorite of yours but Thomas is in a close second. You LOVE your brown Thomas shirt and want to wear it with ELMO socks every day (we don't let you but we try to wash it often so you can wear it as much as possible). Auntie came to visit this month and brought you new Thomas shirts, Thomas trains and Thomas books- and you were very excited about these! You love the trains and want to read the 14 Thomas books all of the time. For the first week we had the books you carried them around with you! Jackson, you LOVE to wear boots. You used to wear the blue boots with the lizards on them but recently you have started wearing the green frog boots and you wear them every day (yes you wear them with ELMO socks and Thomas shirts). You always say BOOTS, BOOTS, BOOTS if you do not have them on your feet.

Your words are coming along beautifully! In fact this morning you told me that you loved me! I love to hear that- it warms the cockles of my heart! You say it like: "I whove you mommy"- it is adorable! Just recently you have started to give kisses which is also nice on the receiving end. You and your brother have taken to strawberries and like to eat them as much as blueberries but you call them "Shawberries" and it is cute when you offer a strawberry to Shane and you say"Shawberry shane?"

Nap time and sleeping......you have your moments. You certainly will nap for Trish with no problem. But one day when Daddy was home you did not want to nap and he went into your room to find you and Shane playing with the window curtain on the floor and waving it like a flag! He told you to go to sleep but he still heard you laughing so when Daddy went back into the room you and Shane were covered in baby lotion! You climbed on top of the radiator and somehow got the lotion, opened it and put it all over each other and the room! Night time is a bit easier for you to fall asleep. You and Shane still fight over the various ELMO books- it is the only book you will read at night and sometimes you have started to sit on the bed and read the book by yourself. But we still have the nightly fights over mommy's lap- one night while I was getting you ready for bed, both you and Shane wanted to sit on my lap- you were already there but you wanted to get a different ELMO book that was on the bed- but in your little head, you knew that if you got up Shane would take your seat so you waited until Shane was distracted with something else before you tried to get the book- smart little guy! Jackson, you like me to lay down with you for one song and you like to play with my hair and necklace almost every night. Recently, you have started to whisper sleep, sleep, sleep and you curl up close to me while we are listening to the music. I think that you are the first one up most mornings because all we hear for a few minutes is Shane, Shane, Shane up - so I can only assume it is you trying to wake up your brother. The other morning Daddy went into the room to get you up and you both tore the sheets off the bed and were hiding under the sheets and you told Daddy to come under and play. ADORABLE.

My little Jackson, I love you so much! You are mommy's sun, moon and stars. You are everything to mommy.
Love- mommy

Shane 30 months

Dear Shane-
My little Shane, you are starting to get big- you are growing like a weed and you are starting to have many typical 2. 5 year old characteristics- you like to cry and yell and be picked up but at the same time you are a sweet little boy. You almost always will give a kiss when you are asked. While you love to play with your brother, you will yell his name if he is not around you also enjoy playing by yourself. There have been a few occasions where Jackson and I were reading or doing something else and you were very content to play by yourself. You like to play animals (this week every animal says moo) and you love to play with your Sesame Street House- Elmo and Ernie play store very well together.

This month Auntie Kristin came out to visit and she spoiled you with Thomas stuff. You got a new Thomas shirt and some new Thomas the train tracks- you love them very much. While you love Thomas and like to wear Thomas shirts- ELMO is still number one in your book right now.

Your vocabulary is getting bigger and you are starting to say more words every day. If I ask you repeatedly, you will say I love you- which sounds like I lub you and you shake your head when you say it- very cute! You are able to count to four and you are starting to know your ABC's. In fact when we were reading an ELMO book with the ABC's in the story you clapped at the end of the ABC's. Jackson didn't want to hear any more ABC's so Jackson said: "No ABC's" and then you proceeded to clap and say ABC's, and Jackson said "No ABC's" and you clapped and said ABC's- you have a good sense of humor already little guy.

For some reason you like to stand on your head or try to stand on your head (Your feet are still on the ground) and laugh. You do this on the floor and on the bed. Speaking of bed- at bed time you love to jump on the bed and bounce, bounce, bounce with your brother and then you fall back and laugh! You, my little Shane have started to get a little better at bed time. It used to be that I would kiss you good night and as soon as I started to do the door you would start to scream and cry and chase me to the door. But recently, you have started saying "my turn" after I tuck Jackson in, so of course, I lie down with you for one song and then you stay in bed.

I love you Shane Kilday, your mommy's sun, moon and stars- you mean everything to me. All my love- Mommy.

First Day back at the Dog Park 2011

We had a great first day back at the Dog Park. We met our friends at 9am sharp at the gate and oh what a time we had. We haven't been to the park since winter so we look very different to all of the park ladies. Below is a picture of Jackson and Shane playing ball with Sandy and Loise's dog Meghan.
