Construction men and Pirates who go grocery shopping at the circus, that's what it is all about this morning on Payson Road. Jackson is the construction worker, wearing a yellow construction hat and Shane is the pirate in his black Pirate hat. They are each pushing a grocery cart filled with play food and things and say they are going to the circus. But wait, that circus is closed, we'll need to find another one! and off they go to the pantry to find another circus.
Imaginations! I love them.

This morning I had the boys and I was trying to get them fed and ready for school. They of course, wanted nothing to do with eating breakfast because they were too busy playing house in the pantry. What does playing house entail you might ask? It entails taking all of the wipes off the shelf and making pizza's out of them, then they would shut the lights of while the pizza cooked and take a "nap" - yes they literally laid on the floor and closed their eyes and then BAMB- Ding Dong- the pizza is done and the lights are back on.

Well they were having so much fun they just could not be separated to get dressed. So much so when I took Shane to get dressed- he said, "No, I NEED Jackson"! Jackson came running into the room and said
"it's O.K. sweetie, I right here" and gave him a hug. I think they hugged each other four times in a matter of 20 minutes!

Sunday happenings

So today was an eventful day.
Scene: Bringing groceries and packages in from the store, contained within was a huge package of paper towels. Both Shane and Jackson wanted to carry the package by themselves.
Shane: "I do it"
Jackson: "No I do it"
Jackson: "I know- team work. Shane team work" Jackson goes to give Shane a high five
Both Boys sing "team work, team work" as they both carry the paper towels into the pantry.

Driving to the Apple Orchid- I turn around and see the boys holding hands for no apparent reason.

After doughnuts with Grandpa we ventured out Apple Picking. Mommy forgot her camera so all of the memories will be embedded in our minds for now. We drove to North Andover to Smolack farms-it was the kids festival and boy was it fun. We didn't pick any apples but the boys had a great time at the petting farm and on the Pirate Ship that was made out of wood. They went for 2 tractor rides and 1 very big hay ride. We spent about 3-4 hours there and had  a blast, complete with candied apples.

At the moment they boys are in the tub washing all of the dirt from the days play off. I love ya little guys!

Touch a truck day

Jackson touch a truck day in Burlington
Shane, Touch a truck day in Burlington

Yesterday was touch a truck day and WOW were there a lot of trucks. There had to be close to 50+ trucks that the kids could climb on and get in the front seat of. It Touch a truck day was a bit loud, as the kids could pull the horns on almost every truck but it was worth it. Jackson had a melt down over the popcorn and we helped a boyscout with some math as he was attempting to give us back some change but all in all it was a great day. We met, firemen like Uncle Larry and lots of police men as well. We'll definitely be back next year!

First Day of School!

Jackson on the first day of pre-school.

Feeling right at home.

Yesterday was the first day of pre-school and Jackson and Shane had a great time. Mommy and Daddy drove them to school, we held hands going into school, and they found their cubbies with no problems (they could each identify their own photograph in the cubby). Mommy and Daddy stayed about 15 minutes while you settled in but the two of you were bouncing around that classroom like it was no body's business and were having a great time playing with the playdo and in the kitchen and in the little house. I hope next week goes just as well! Fly boys fly- you are on your way! I love you.

Grandma Nancy

Dear Shane & Jackson,

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing this- Grandma Nancy passed away yesterday at 6:30. She was such a wonderful person and a fabulous grandma to you I can't really explain it. She used to watch you on Friday mornings and she was a big help to mommy when you were little babies- one day she came over just to visit and give mommy a break when you were little babies. She helped us pick out bottles and formula and we wouldn't have gotten through those first early months without her love and support. Grandma loved you boys so much, i think you really kept her going through some of those tough patches. When she wasn't able to see you as much she relied on this blog to keep current with the ongoings of her grandsons. We will never forget all of the wonderful memories we have with Grandma Nancy. We all love you Grandma.

" A grandmother is a little bit, parent, a little bit teacher and a little bit best friend."

We love and miss you Grandma.

Storyland & Day at the beach

Storyland, the place where memories are made is what people say. Well we have a lot of driving memories from this day. We drove a good 1.5 hours up to the Kangamanus highway to find out that the road was closed! so we had to drive all of the way back to Meredith to get on a different highway, needless to say we drove for 5 hours before arriving at Storyland.
Daddy and Shane on his sholders. When we arrived we met a family friend and kids from daddy's work there. We made it through the nursery rhyme section with them but then we had to split up becuase of different intersts. We had a great time, we rhode the Princess swan boat, the pumpkin to Cinderalla's castle, the pirate ship, the Train (a few times) and there were other rides as well but we also took in a great 30 minutes circus show. Thank god for the stroller becuase it was a lot of walking for the munchkins. Jackson slept on the 2 hour drive home and Shane just yelled Ding Dong the entire ride home back to Meredith- it was a cute ding dong.

Mommy and her boys- Jackson white shirt, Shane beige shirt.

There is a beach here at South Down Shores for residents and so far it has been pretty quite. We bring our chairs and beach stuff and get settled for the day. The boys had a great time swimming in the water and playing in the sand, making soup and throwing rocks into the water. I wish we could do this every day with them. It is great to be outside and enjoying life! They even made friends with the landscaper guys and followed them around for a good hour while they worked, at times Shane and Jackson were helpful picking up sticks and all for the guys. Jackson was obsessed about following them around- the boys had fun and I can't speak for the landscapers but I think that one or two of the guys enjoyed the help.

Shane eating apple, Jackson striped shirt.

Today was a bit more mello- we took a boat ride on the Sophie C mail boat on the lake. The boys had a chance to walk all around the boat, wave to lots of people and even fill out postcards on the boat. At the end of the ride they were exhausted and fell right to sleep in the car. So, we decided to drive around and let Nana peruse the shops while mommy stayed in the car with the sleepy heads for 2.5 hours so they got a good nap! tomorrow, the beach!
