At the park

Nana has the boys on Friday's and they usually go to Story Hour in Stoneham and then go to the park. Well who did they bump into at the playground? Caileb and Auntie Kim! In this photo, Shane is in the grey shirt with his eyes closed, Jackson in Blue and Caileb in Red Sox Shirt.

Shane's "rainbow snappies"

Shane has had a "thing" for snappie PJ's since he was about 12 months old. He only liked to wear PJs with a snap at the top so that he could rub the overlapping piece of material against his face. I remember when he couldn't talk yet and he would cry and jump up and down if we didn't have snappie PJs for him. As he got older and no longer fit into one piece PJs- Shane took to carrying his "Rainbow snappy PJs" around with him. No big deal- he sleeps with them and likes to hold them sometimes at night but he doesn't leave the house with them.

Over time the size 12 month Rainbow snappie PJs clearly became too small and he carried it around. And it ripped. No big deal, he still had his snappy. Well the other night Daddy and Shane were wrestling and the Rainbow snappy ripped apart - the snap came off. OH NO! What were we going to do you might ask? As long as Shane had the snap part of the rainbow snappy he was o.k. - well that lasted a day and it was lost. So long story short, the rainbow snappy is gone and we have a new snappy- the baseball snappy- let's see how long this one lasts?!?

Animals

Both boys love to play animals. One of them (Usually Jackson) is the mommy animal (Usually a lion) and Shane will be the baby animal.

Hiding is a new thing- they love to hide- when i come into the room. Although, to them hiding is putting thier head down or their hands over their face, they are not really hiding, but they think they. They like me to sign a song "I was walking down the street one day, when I xxxxx (came into the living room and no one was there) and then i sit next to them or pretend to sit on them, and they think it is the funniest thing! and they yell, do walk down the street again Mommy!

snacks

Jackson and Shane have good appetites, but also like to graze on their food. I know that they eat well for Trish but for Mommy and Daddy it is more of an eat and play approach. Well yesterday after Grandpa's visit (he brought doughnuts over) we ventured out for the day so that Daddy could get some paper work done. We played at the park and when the boys started asking for snacks we went to Friendly's for lunch- they ate a lot, including ice cream with treats. Jackson of course had Strawberry ice cream with gummy bears and Shane had Green ice cream- a.k.a mint chocolate chip with m&m's. or as Shane calls them MMs please. So, after lunch we go to another playground and about 30 minutes into playing Shane comes over to me asking for Snacks! We just ate lunch I said, but none the less, I gave him some carrots. 20 minutes later, the carrots are gone and he comes over and says: What's next mommy? What's next for snack?

Misc. Update

So it has been a while since we posted anything on the blog. I owe both boys letters but the reason for no letters is that I just don't feel that i have anything fruitful or insightful to write to my children. I will definitely write this month, as I feel guilty not writing. I love my children more than my own life and want nothing but the best for them. We have been busy these last few weeks, I was lucky enough to take today off from work so I was able to go to school and play with the Shane and Jackson in the park and meet their little friends and their moms. Both kiddos were playing independently at the park and with other children besides their brother, which made me feel good because I have noticed that they stick together so much some times it makes me a little nervous.

We have started, well almost completed music lessons and for the most part that is going well. Shane really enjoys the music classes but Jackson, not so much. Jackson will lie on the floor yelling and kicking his legs or they will start spinning around in circles and the teacher said out loud- that is so distracting....I practically started to cry during the class b/c I couldn't control them. Last week Daddy joined me at music class and I ended up leaving early with Jackson. I 'm thinking this week Jackson might stay home with Daddy and I'll take Shane to music class solo.

Last weekend we drove out to the Franklin Park Zoo and spent just as much time looking for a parking spot at the zoo. But once we got into the zoo- we were there to see the animals of course, the boys wanted nothing to do with the animals, they were only interested in the rides and slides throughout the zoo. We did however see the lion but aside from that we spent a lot of time at the kids barn and going down the slide. They both rode these little carnival rides - one was a bunch of cars that goes round and round- and every time they passed us, Shane waived and yelled hi. Jackson just smiled the entire time.

On Sunday Uncles Adam and Dave met us at the Aquarium for a mother's day tour of the aquarium. Again, Shane and Jackson were happy to see Adam and Dave and were very interested in the penguins but that was about it- they had more fun running up and down the ramp. It was a beautiful day out so we hung out at the waterfront for a while. Jackson and Shane made LOTS of friends- young and old. They were playing tag with some kids and then when they left Jackson continued to talk to a young couple who was clearly trying to have a "moment" and he continued to talk to them and show them the boats and the birds etc. etc. etc. It was cute to watch and a big thank you to Uncle Adam for watching the boys at the waterfront!

Off to Chicago, I"ll miss my little boys and will see you in a few days. All my love-
Mommy
