Last weekend of March 2014
This is the bathroom at the MFA, Jackson visited this room 4 times during art class this week!
During art class we had a lesson on masks and we visited the African Art galleries and looked at masks, the project was to make your own mask. Here is Jakcson's mask. He wanted to bring home some paper but the teacher said no, so he folded some up and and put it in my bag! We saw him do it and told him to take the paper out of my bag and he obliged.
Mommy visited with her friend Ms. Courtney from College last week. Here is Mommy and Shane waiting on the steps at home for Ms. Courtney to come visit.
Shane and Jackson in the African Art gallery listening to the teacher Ms. Kathy
Cleaning the doors with thier new Norwex mits from Charlie's mom. They love to clean!
Friday with Nana
The boys played with Nana on Friday and Joan (auntie Joan ) came over with Isabella. Here are some photos of their adventures at Joey's Park & Moozy's.

March 2014 Drawings
Here is some art work the boys did this week at home with Trish. I know that Jackson drew the rainbow but not certain on the other two drawings.
In other news, Jackson has started mimicking everything I say. After a few minutes Shane started as well- FUN FUN FUN!

Art Lessons at the MFA
We started art lessons at the MFA, Sunday morning we are in the 4-5 y.o. class. Yesterday was the first day and it went surprisingly well! There are 7 families in the class and the parents stay for the duration, we went on a small gallery tour and visited 2 sculpture rooms- the Egyptians and the Romans and then after the tour we went back down to the class room to do our own sculpture. Above is a picture of Jackson making a "Volcano Head Sculpture". The teacher was great and gave good instructions, Jackson wanted to be up front and hold her hand but she didn't mind, there was another little boy holding her other hand..... The biggest temptation for all of the kids was to touch everything! We had to keep reminding Jackson and Shane not to touch and to WALK!
In addition to the sculpture Jackson made a great hat with gold paper that he was very proud of, we will hang it on the wall at home. We'll see what we make next week?

First Day of Spring 2014
Spring is finally here! Well at least for today it is, today it is going to get to 45 degrees!!!! But don't worry it will be back down in the twenties again tomorrow.
Nana came to Karate lessons last night- both Shane and Jackson are a purple belt with one stripe. Nana also came over for dinner so the boys were very excited to see her- Jackson calls her a cupcake head b/c he thinks her hair looks like a cupcake! I think Nana is going to write a book about it.
Karate and swimming have been going well, the boys are participating and for the most part behaving. Shane and Jackson got thrown out of Karate a few weeks back because they were fighting but they were o.k. last night. We start art classes at the MFA this weekend which hopefully will be fun and not too stressful!
Jackson is still building forts all over the place, last night he built one around his bed and was very proud of it! With the encouragement of Shane, Mommy has been building some legos with the boys. Shane told me "it's o.k. mommy, you can do it, the legos aren't that hard". I know you can do it mommy, and then after I built something he gave me a high five.
The boys carefully reading the newest lego booklet from the Lego Store- this keeps them occupied for a long time!
Shane left, Jackson Right- the boys examining their loot from the Dinosaur exhibit- they went mining for rocks while they were there!
Faces painted and having fun at the Dino exhibit- Boston MA.
Mining at the Dino show- Shane left, Jackson right
Reading before Karate Lessons, Shane Left and Jackson right. Shane read a pirtate adventure and Jackson was reading "an island delight"- don't really know what that means.
Shane and his pirate adventure book.
The boys handwriting- March 2014- age 5 1/2. This is from a card they made for Zach.
Observation time at karate lessons.
Family fun at the Belmont Winter Carnival at the H.S. - March 2014. Jackson tie dye shirt, Shane in blue Spiderman sweatshirt.
Superheros unite! This is the boys in their Hugh Hefner robes from Nana. Jackson especially likes to wear his robe. Shane likes to put things in the robe- such as the dragon sword and radio communicator to keep the bad guys away.
Building workshop at Home Depot- march 24. Shane above with the hammer.
Shane showing off his new karate moves and purple belt.
The Lego store- shopping for legos is quite an experience! Here is Shane eyeing a new toy.
Here is a picture of a Playroom fort. Notice the blankets and that every crevase is full with a toy or even one of Shane's onsies so that no light will get into the fort. Shane is carrying his tool box to fix the holes!

Misc. fun things
We have been having fun this winter at the Bryant house. A few fun facts and pictures will follow:
Uncle Jay and Auntie Kate had a baby boy: Baby Reid- we love watching movies of him on the phone.
Now when we visit Grandpa, Shane is all of a sudden afraid of his cat- he tip toes around the house so not to "wake him up" but Jackson is jumping all around so Shane can forget about that. The boys play ball with Grandpa out in the hall in his apartment building and the other day someone came out and yelled at the boys to go play outside.
Everything is a fort these days- the coffee table, the couch, the bed. This morning the boys made an "ice cream fort" on our bed in our bedroom- they took every pillow and blanket they could find and piled them up to make an ice cream cone then they jumped on it- I was waiting for the screaming to start as a result of an injury but thankfully it never happened.
For a while Jackson was playing air guitar on everything and they were both rock stars. They would run and then slide on their knees like they were rock stars and play the air guitar while yelling out words.
When they aren't playing fort or rock stars, Shane and Jackson are playing superheroes. Everyone is a hero, even more mommy! I'm usually bat girl or the pink power ranger and I'm referred to as such.
Jackson had 3 cavities! But he says that he likes going to the dentist b/c he gets a goodie bag- yesterday he received an eraser and two little round toys and a bat man sticker! One more trip to the dentist and then hopefully we will be done for a while.
