Sundays
Today is Sunday and that means the DOG PARK for snowball. This is snowballs chance to run around and have fun with all of his dog friends. Now that Shane and Jackson are getting bigger we let them run around as well. And boy do they look cute! They run or waddle in their little shorts and shirts and baseball hats and just look adorable, I hope I never forget today because it was perfect! The boys and snowball had fun at the park and then we visited A. Ru- she looked beautiful as always and was very happy to see us. We had a fun visit. After a quick bite to eat we came home for naps and then bam the boys were up and at it again. We had a busy bath time tonight- neither one would sit in the tub instead, the stood up the entire time pouring water all over themselves and inadvertently us making the bathroom floor a swiming pool! And then after the bath? Well it was ball and book time, oh, lets not forget that it is also time to tear the drawers apart- there aren't enough hands to keep one child away from a drawer while the other one is at the other side of the room going through another drawer. Unfortunately, the clean up isn't very organized either b/c we are in a rush to put them away before Shane and Jackson can get them out again! Sweet dreams little guys we love you!

Today we went to the stone zoo with nana-we had fun running around and sometimes looking at the animals. We really liked the wolves and the birds! We both fell asleep in the car on the way home.
What else have we been up to? We love the water table grandma gave us and we get really wet playing with it! Tonight Shane decided that he was going to sit inside a Lego obtainer with two balloons- we aren't sure what he was really trying to do but he worked very hard at it.
We also had a fun visit with Uncle Chris when he was in Boston for work. Both of us had fun but Jackson especially liked how uncle Chris would tip him upside down and Shane loved playing ball with uncle Chris.

Ball or Shot put?
What little boy doesn't love balls? Well at our house both Shane and Jackson LOVE balls- I also think it is their favorite word to say: Ball, ball, ball. So tonight we played ball- we have big balls, small balls, bouncy balls, little balls you name it we have it. Sometimes the boys try to throw the ball and they hit themselves in the head. Tonight Shane decided that he needed to take a running start to throw the ball and he threw it from his shoulder, like he was throwing a shot put- it was fun to watch!
Both Shane and Jackson entertained themselves throwing balls around the hall for a good 15 minutes.

Meeting their cousin
Shane and Jackson were invited to their cousin Desire Rose's 1st Birthday party on Saturday and did they have fun. This was going to be the first day the boys didn't take a formal nap and believe it or not they did o.k. There were lots of balloons at the party and they enjoyed playing with all of the grown ups. I'm sure it will be the first of many parties with their cousins.
Wet times at the Boston Children's Museum
As we do on every Sunday morning we set out for Beaver Brooke Park to take snowball to see his friends at the dog park. We planned to then go to the Beaver Brooke Spray Park- as we were driving it started to really rain- so change of plans. Snowball went home and we headed to the Children's Museum.
We found a parking spot on the street and headed into the museum with all of the other families trying to find something to do in the rain. We opted to leave the bubble room for last and after visiting Aurthur's world we went to the WATER ROOM! Jackson and Shane put on a smock (which did no good) and played in the water room for an hour and a half- they even saw their friends Owen and Cole. Jackson literally went between two tables with buckets of water and spilling it all over himself every time and he loved every second of it. Shane was with Daddy and he also got pretty wet- it was a good thing Mommy brought extra clothes with us b/c we needed them! By the time we finished in the water room the museum was so busy we decided to go home.

Jackon and Shane's words
Jackson and Shane are 20 months old and are started to speak a few words. Jackson tends to be more verbal than Shane but they both say about the same words.... the most common words are:
Boon translation Balloon
Bi translation Bird
Muh translation Milk
Ma Ma - no translation needed- Mommy
Da no translation needed- Daddy (usually accompanied by waving arms and laughter)
Key
Cah translation Car- usually followed by a wave
Bye Bye- no translation required
As I am writing this, I have noticed that my little guys have more words than I thought.
To Jackson and Shane- I know that i tend to group you both together in a lot of this blog but Daddy and I completely view you as two separate people! We know that you are your own individuals and we love you so much for your own individuality! You are both so special in your own way! Mommy and Daddy love you- you are Mommy's Sun, Moon and Stars- you are everything to us!

Identical or Fratermal Twins?
Technically Shane and Jackson are fraternal twins. However, everything about them is the same- they are growing at exactly the same rate, they look the same, talk at the same pace etc. We are wondering if we should have their DNA checked to see if they are really identical twins- 15% of fraternal twins are actually identical. Dr. Yogman thinks that would be a silly exercise since they are their own individuals but as they get older we wonder more and more if they are really identical twins?

Last night I decided that the boys would eat in the chairs on the island (no high chairs). We were eating Chicken and Peas and the boys sat eager to eat with their forks, they looked like little angels eating at the island. (Proud mom moment). That proud mom moment lasted for all of 2 minutes when they started to squeeze their peas and then throw everything on the floor. Before I knew it Shane's entire meal was on the floor (Similar to the morning I turned my back to get my coffee and the oatmeal was all over him!) and he was very proud of himself. Snowball was at the Pampered Pooch so he was not home to clean up. As I was cleaning the floor, both Shane and Jackson intently watched and laughed me clean up and then I realized- hey?!? they are not done with supper yet?!? Stop cleaning and finish supper- we had bananas for dessert and they both ate the fruit in total. Before I went back to cleaning- I did a little paper towel waltz and gently passed the paper towel over their faces as I moved and sang and they boys both laughed and laughed.

Memoiral Day Weekend

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend. We ventured out to Franklin Park Zoo on Saturday- the boys loved seeing all of the animals but Shane got a little scared in the dark snake house. We even went on a small carousel ride- nothing like the Columbus Zoo but it was still fun. Now speaking of fun, Sunday we took snow for his walk at Beaver Brook then we left our dog park friends and headed for the spray park- wow! what an adventure. Snowball sat in the stroller for the morning and the boys just walked around. At first Shane ran directly into the water, stood there and then cried when he got wet. But after a few minutes both Shane and Jackson crowded together into one little section of a big park to splash in the puddles. They played on the swings and enviously looked at some kid's balloons and had snacks.
On Memorial day the boys watched the Belmont parade and had a BBQ with Nana Sue- they were certainly tired at the end of the day and slept until 7am on Tuesday morning!
