Going to bed- again.
It seems that I always have a lot of stories about going to bed. Maybe that is because they are freshest in my mind? I don't know but I usually find the stories pretty funny. Last night Jackson was a tad grumpy- he wasn't feeling well and got a BIG bump on his head from falling outside. So Jackson was very vocal about wearing his boots to bed etc. (No, he did not wear his boots to bed, I took them off him). Shane on the other hand was as happy as a lark and I thought he was hiding behind the chair. When I asked where Shane was and checked behind the chair- there was no Shane! Where was he I asked Jackson. Shane was hiding under his bed and would not come out! At one point I dragged Shane out from under the bed but in less than a minute he crawled back under there! Crazy little boy that Shane, Jackson just stayed in bed with his hands folded behind his head watching the entire thing. When I left the room, I know that Shane crawled out from under the bed because he went to the door and started screaming for Mommy. Love you boys!

Dear Shane-
My little smiling Shane, you are always smiling. You are almost two and a half years old, how quickly time flies! Shane, you love to play and laugh...and sleep. When you go to sleep you have to have your snappies (PJs that don't fit you any more) and you carry those snappies around with you from the moment you get into your room until you start playing the next day. You LOVE snappies. You still curl up into a little ball with your butt in the air when you sleep and you say "tuck mommy"- you like to be tucked in. You also love to be picked up; "pick up" "pick up" is what you say and you could be carried around all day.
However, you are starting to rebell your naps and the other day i went into your room to find you on top of your bureau! You silly little boy, you climbed up there but couldn't get down. You and Jackson trashed your bedroom- it looked like a fraternity house.
You are a funny little fella Shane, and you are picking up more words every day. Some days you mimic everything that is said to you and sometimes you put 3-4 words together in a little sentence! You like to hide behind the couch and curtains and play hide -n-seek and i think your favorite game to play right now is puzzles, you love puzzles and you are good at them. Even last night you and your brother ripped up all of the soft letters from the floor in the playroom and you were able to put the letters back in the correct spot when we were cleaning up. I think the puzzles and counting everything is starting to pay off as you can count to three and you know when there are two of something- for example, last night we read a story with 2 bikes in the photograph and you said "two bikes" to me while pointing to the bikes.
You have also started jumping A LOT- you jump off of everything including your bed and you also like to jump on your bed. You had your first bout of a sickness last month but we got through it- it was a new experience for all of us- you would just lay on mommy's chest while Jackson and Daddy played, i think Jackson missed his playmate. But you are all better now and loving life- we have been playing out side since we had a few days of nice weather and most recently you have started to paint!- wow is that a messy activity!
My little Shane, I love you with all of my heart. I love it when you and your brother nudge each other because the other one is too close to "your mommy". I love you Shane Kilday!
Love always-

Dear Jackson-
You are almost two and a half years old, oh my! You are such a good natured little boy and at the same time you can be very demanding but all in all you are doing O.K.
You and your brother Shane sometimes fight over mommy and that can bring tears to your eyes- but then again you can turn on the faucet pretty easily little guy. You like what you like- one one hand you are becoming more independent- you like your orange juice and will get it out of the refrigerator for me and YELL if I don't' give you the correct cup. You have a strong preference for things-big spoons, juice cups, PJs etc.
I think your favorite game to play is "smash everything in sight" but when you aren 't doing that you like to play stamps and color. One day you played with so many stamps that your hands and face were covered in them! You like to see everything- "I see mommy", "I see mommy" is a common phrase these days.
At bedtime you love to read books and it must be THE ELMO BOOK- the yellow Elmo book, you and your brother will fight over that book until the cows come home. You still love to look out the window, in fact last night you stood behind the curtain for 10 minutes with Daddy looking out the window. During the day you like to look for the Kitty next door but at night I'm not too certain what you look at but something certainly catches your attention. When I tuck you into bed you say one song mommy- I think you want me to stay with you for one song and then you put your hands behind your head and smile.
On Fridays and the weekends (whenever Trish isn't there) you put on a little napping strike- or rather you protest for about an hour or two and sleep for maybe one hour if we are lucky. I have written other posts about your crazy nap time antics- throwing clothes onto the chandelier, tearing the curtains down, jumping on the bed- you are a crazy little guy Jackson. You have also done very well with your listening skills and you are starting to listen a bit more and help pick up things when you are asked. We are still working with Early Intervention- Miss. Jen and Miss. Anita each come once per week to work on your speech. At the moment you are mostly saying one word phrases but occasionally you do put 2 words together.
I love you Jackson Reid and I am proud of you and everything that you are becoming as you get older. All my love-

new places to sleep
We had a great weekend full of activities and full of energy. Today we went to visit A. Ru but she wasn't up for visitors. So while Keith and I took turns saying hello to A. Ru the boys stayed in the library- they missed A. Ru as they were yelling Auntie Ru, Auntie Ru- they were calling her name like they really wanted to see her. After grocery shopping we came home had lunch etc. The boys wouldn't settle down for a nap, at one point I went in to tell them to go to sleep and Shane was SITTING on the bureau! Yes, somehow he got up on top of the bureau and was sitting there. Eventually they fell asleep. 5pm comes and I go into wake them up and here is the scene:No one is in Jackson's bed, Jackson is in Shane's bed and Shane is asleep ON the bureau! One of the paintings is practically knocked off the wall, there are clothes hanging from the chandelier, curtains are pulled down and clothes are all over the room (they emptied 2 drawers)!!! Crazy I tell ya! It looked like a fraternity house in there, and the two of them had these innocent little looks like- we did nothing wrong mommy. :-)

chandelier
The boys have discovered the chandelier in their bedroom. Up to now it has been just a light. Last night they discovered that if they threw something high enough it would get caught on the chandelier and hang their. Did they think that was GREAT! Mommy did not think it was so great. Needless to say they had a night full of laughter throwing clothes up in the air trying to get them to hang on the light. They didn't have so much fun when mommy took everything away and said lights out. Sorry boys!

Shane puts 4 words together
Now that the boys are drinking juice, there are more options to chose from when they want a drink: Milk, Juice, Water....... Shane can never seem to decide what he wants to drink so this morning he had juice. After pouring the juice Shane changed his mind and decided that he wanted milk so the juice stayed on the counter. ....The juice stayed on the counter until Jackson came along and started drinking it. At which point Shane started yelling: "No Jackson, My juice!". While they are fighting about the juice, it was exciting to hear Shane put four words together in a sentence.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Shane also likes to walk around the house with Daddy's phone and hold it up as if to take a picture yelling "Cheese".

One More Song and other words
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis7twzHBauWPLASlaaWAwixf3xn3WR4MYr7lmDV9buAzdp96skRsRmptfd9vOvmL035SNGnREMJPYCO-_kygC8UIBYH8BNaXjzFGdwZZanBJWQ42DmHC-Lmtx3h4o77fsAV26vQnaWTVM/s320/stamps.jpg)
Both Jackson and Shane are speaking more and more words every day. Going to bed has gotten a lot easier as both of the boys actually get into bed and for the most part stay there. Shane doesn't like anyone on his bed or rubbing his back, but Jackson on the other hand loves it. Jackson will say one song mommy? Which means will you lay down with me on my bed for one song and rub my tummy? Then when that song is over he'll say- one song mommy?- i.e. please stay for more- I'm a sucker so I usually will stay for two songs, by the second song Shane is falling asleep and Jackson has settled in with all of his books, stuffed animals and snappies and just lays there with his hands folded behind his head looking at me smiling- it is awesome!
********************************************************************
Everyone continues to be into wearing shoes in the house- in fact yesterday Shane wore 2 different shoes and it didn't seem to bother him one single bit!
********************************************************************
Shane said "mommy sleeping Up" yesterday- while i was getting ready for work- he thought I was still sleeping. Shane is mimicing lots and lots of words and loves to look out the window and yell at the cars and trucks as they go by.
********************************************************************
A new favorite thing is to throw balls over the gate and down the stairs. Shane and Jackson also do this with snowballs cow. Cow aside the balls make for great entertainmnet. Last night they roped daddy into getting the balls, so all three of them went down the stairs to get the balls and the boys wanted to go into the first floor apt. they could hear the people talking in there and totaly wanted to be part of that scene. Daddy told them to wisper which they thought was great fun and then bringing the balls back up the stairs was even more fun for some reason.
********************************************************************
I see is a new phrase- I see this , I see that. And both Shane and Jackson want to watch everything- making supper, the microwave, the toaster etc. -they love pressing buttons! Last night they were really into the buttons on the radio and the iPod which was driving me crazy! They pull over the stools to where ever we are and "see" what I am doing. While it makes me nervous it is cute to watch.
*******************************************************
My mommy- this is a new phrase for both boys and I'm sorry to say this Daddy but the boys run over to me and push each other out of the way yelling "my mommy, my mommy".
