Dear Jackson-
You are almost two and a half years old, oh my! You are such a good natured little boy and at the same time you can be very demanding but all in all you are doing O.K.
You and your brother Shane sometimes fight over mommy and that can bring tears to your eyes- but then again you can turn on the faucet pretty easily little guy. You like what you like- one one hand you are becoming more independent- you like your orange juice and will get it out of the refrigerator for me and YELL if I don't' give you the correct cup. You have a strong preference for things-big spoons, juice cups, PJs etc.
I think your favorite game to play is "smash everything in sight" but when you aren 't doing that you like to play stamps and color. One day you played with so many stamps that your hands and face were covered in them! You like to see everything- "I see mommy", "I see mommy" is a common phrase these days.
At bedtime you love to read books and it must be THE ELMO BOOK- the yellow Elmo book, you and your brother will fight over that book until the cows come home. You still love to look out the window, in fact last night you stood behind the curtain for 10 minutes with Daddy looking out the window. During the day you like to look for the Kitty next door but at night I'm not too certain what you look at but something certainly catches your attention. When I tuck you into bed you say one song mommy- I think you want me to stay with you for one song and then you put your hands behind your head and smile.
On Fridays and the weekends (whenever Trish isn't there) you put on a little napping strike- or rather you protest for about an hour or two and sleep for maybe one hour if we are lucky. I have written other posts about your crazy nap time antics- throwing clothes onto the chandelier, tearing the curtains down, jumping on the bed- you are a crazy little guy Jackson. You have also done very well with your listening skills and you are starting to listen a bit more and help pick up things when you are asked. We are still working with Early Intervention- Miss. Jen and Miss. Anita each come once per week to work on your speech. At the moment you are mostly saying one word phrases but occasionally you do put 2 words together.
I love you Jackson Reid and I am proud of you and everything that you are becoming as you get older. All my love-
Mommy
