I did it, I successfully had the boys all day without incident! We went to story time, out to lunch and to the park. And I didn't have a nervous breakdown during the day which is a big thing since i am little nervous taking the boys out with me. Certainly not to the park, that is no big deal but to restaurants etc. I get a little shaky but it was a good day.
Sunday was a glorious day here in Belmont MA. We met some of our friends from school for a "hike" through the Belmont Creek Conservation area. It was filled with stopping at the creek to throw rocks in the water, swings and a snack (with bubbles). What Sunday wouldn't be complete without a visit to Grandpa so we went and had lunch with them and then when we got home we cracked open the sandbox, went for a bike ride and spent the afternoon outside.

I know I need to post some photos and hope to do that soon.!

hide and seek
hide and seek is a new game at the house. The boys love to play it- they hide under everything- covers, tables etc. but they get so excited when you come into the room they laugh and squeal that they give themselves away! Jackson this morning was snake under the table, but a nice snake and game out to give me a lick.
Last night the boys went fishing all night in the living room- fishing for fish but mostly crocodiles- there are lots of crocodiles in our house- beware. They fish with the dogs leashes. When I asked them about where they learned how to fish they told me Winnie the Pooh- we have a book in which Pooh goes fishing.
Of course they continue to talk on their play cell phones to their cousins and to Nana- its always Nana and my cousins.

Shane- Feb. Letter
Dear Shane-
It is February and the days are starting to get a little longer and you like to stay outside for as long as possible. You little Shane are getting bigger and taller and are out growing your clothes. You still love to play dress up- you wear the firechief and police man's outfits often and you look adorable in them. You still won't let go of your rainbow snappies any time we are home you pretty much have them in your hand.
February was Valentine's day and you did lots of Valentine's crafts both at home with Trish and at school with Mrs. Sacca and Mrs. T. You are very proud of the work that you create and we hang it up on the wall in the kitchen. On school vacation week you ventured out to Chuck-E-Cheese and the Aquarium! You like to talk about the penguins and watch them "take a shower".
You love to sleep little guy and one night you were so tired you feel asleep on the floor! You love your smiles and snuggles and there are some nights in which you sneak into our room at night and ask Daddy if you can sleep on his tummy, of course daddy says yes.
This is a given, but your language has really developed and I have full conversations with you. I have to say that your favorite question at the moment is to ask WHY? Everything is Why, why, why. But that's O.K. I'm glad that you are asking the questions and looking around for things.
I love you Shane Kilday- you are mommy's sun, moon and stars (as you like to say).
All my love-
Mommy

Jackson Feb. 2011 Letter
Dear Jackson-
My little Jack, you are getting more demanding in your old age and very opinionated about things. For example, you say that you want pizza for dinner every night! even though i don't ask you what you want for dinner, you just decide to tell me. You even go to the extreme of getting the pizza out of the freezer! and then of course you cry when you don't get the pizza.
You still love your wooden spoon. I'm not sure why this is, but you love this spoon- it is an old cooking spoon and you wave it around and around. Sometimes when you throw it, it is taken away and you cry and cry but for the most part you are O.K. about it. And your newest adventure is running around flapping your arms yelling tweet tweet.
Your bedtime routine is a cute one. After we haggle you into brushing your teeth and you run around, you have to have your batman superhero book, blanket and Kittie and the newest addition, a matchbox car- don't ask me why about the car? but you are very attached to a certain purple car that you must sleep with. Every night we read stories and you turn the music on and then you have to go say good night to daddy, who is usually reading in our bedroom. You go in and say night night daddy, sweet dreams and turn his light off for him. It is very cute actually.
You are growing up my little guy. Just the other day you asked me if I was going to the Ballet again with Nana (I went to the ballet with Nana two weeks ago), your memory is getting sharper. You love to play play dough and draw and color and now that the nice weather is creeping up on us you love to go to the park and of course, your old stand by favorite- the indoor play gym!
I love you Jackson Reid, you are mommy's sun, moon and stars.
