Shane June 2012 letter

Dear Shane-
June has come and gone and I just realized that I already wrote you a letter this month so now you will have 2 letters for this month. June has been busy and you are growing so fast. You are into doing things on your own this month and especially in the last few days- everything is "No Mommy, I do it by myself". Since Mommy has some time off from work we have been doing a lot and going to lots of different places.
We visited York Maine and the Wild Animal kingdom there- a zoo and rides made for a great day. It started out very rainy but then the sun came out and we had a blast. You didn't want to pet the snake (Jackson ran up to that snake and patted it) but you did LOVE the rides. Shane, you especially loved the rollercoaster- you rhode that rollercoaster all by your self and did so about 4 times, by the 5th time Jackson was feeling a little ill so Mommy sat with you. You also loved the ferris wheel and anything else that would go up high. However, you did not like the fact that you weren't tall enough for some of the fun houses- you whined yelling i want to go in there reapetedly.
We also visited Thomas the Train on Cape Cod and you got to ride on Thomas and meet him- it was great. Of course there were rides there as well and anything that went high you wanted to go on.

Everything is baby something- you love to play baby lion, baby shark etc. You love to swim- at AUntie Kim's house last week you were shivering but still wanted to stay in the pool and you pretend to swim in the bath tub as well. You start real swimming lessons again next week- so we'll see how that goes.:-)

Shane Kilday, you are a sweet little guy and I love you with all of my heart.
Love-
Mommy

Jackson June 2012 letter

Dear Jackson-
Summer is here and we are enjoying everything that summer has to offer! You finished your first year of pre-school without incident and then spent two weeks in "June Bug Camp" at school and had a blast. We have had a busy few months and now that Mommy has some time off from work we are doing all sorts of things.

We have spent many a hot day in the back yard playing with the sprinkler and the water table, you are very interested in swimming and at a recent party at Auntie Kim's house you were showing off your swimming skills. You start another round of swimming classes next week. We finished Music class this month and Mommy was glad to have that completed- you weren't too into the music class and to be honest Jack, you disrupted the class more than you participated in it so I don't think we will be going back to Music class just yet.
We have taken a few road trips this month. We visited York Maine with Nana - we went to the zoo there and there was an amusement park- you LOVED the bumper boats and since it was kind of quite the day we went you were able to ride the green boat a few times. You were not so keen on the rollercoaster- when we got off you said that you "ate too much popcorn" and didn't feel to well but you did enjoy the kiddie ferris wheel. We also visited Thomas the Train on Cape Cod- that was an adventure- we got to ride a Thomas train and it was lovely.
Jackson, you are becoming very talkative and inquisative- you ask a lot of questions about how things work and why things are a certain color or a certain way. Your memory is also getting stronger and sharper every day and we can literally have a conversation with you. You are very good at the potty and I think that you are almost trained but we'll have to see how that continues. And Jackson, you continue to make friends where ever you go- especially older girls! You are my little man Jackson Reid and I love you with all of my heart.
Love,
Mommy

Picnic in the kitchen

Yesterday the boys went to the farm in Wesley with Trish, they had an early lunch so they were hungry for dinner by 5:30. They wanted hot dogs! and a picnic.
Jackson came out to the kitchen with a blanket, his toy jack hammer and "pet bunny"- which was really a bear. And announced that we should have a picnic and we can drill at the same time. The drill got put aside for dinner time but the teddy bear stayed put. All through our picnic Jackson continued to ask Keith: "Daddy, do you want to pat my bunny" his name is xxxxxxxxx- I couldn't understand what the bunnies name was. So Daddy continued to pat the bunny. Jackson then said it was his favorite bunny in the whole world!

June Bug Camp

Today was the start of "June Bugs Camp" at school. Shane and Jackson, but especially Jackson were very excited to go to "camp" today. Jackson kept asking if Mrs. Sacca, Miss. Jacqueline and Charlie were going to be there, and when I said YES! He ran over to me and gave me a big hug and said I love June Bug Camp, it's my favorite! June bug camp is really just pre-school extended for two weeks with longer days (9-1pm). Above you can see the boys in their PJs (shane blue, jackson white with the back pack on at 7am) packing their lunches. They loved to make their sandwiches and put things in their lunch packs.

Above photo, an old favorite- Beaver Brook Spray Park- its open for the season and Trish took the boys there after June Bug Camp and a good time was had by all!

Shane- June 2012 Letter

Dear Shane -
Or should I say Shaney since your brother and Daddy call you Shaney? We have had a busy few months Shane and you have been and continue to be a sweet little boy. You successfully completed your first year of pre-school at Belmont Cooperative Nursery School and Mrs. Sacca described you as a caring friend and sweet little boy. She said that you can often be found in the play house with your friends and on the telephone calling Daddy.

You still love your snappies- in fact this morning when we were getting dressed you told me that they were not PJs, they are my SNAPPIES! You sleep with your snappies and carry them around at night- Trish does not let you have them during the day and you seem fine with that! You are really getting into coloring and cutting things, last night we played at cut things at this island just the two of us for a while! It was great, just cutting paper together. You also like to play play-dough and "write letters" you are not actually writing any letters as of yet, but you like to go through my stationary and take the envelopes and fold up your pictures and create "letters" for the mail.

While you ARE a sweet little boy as Mrs. Sacca describes, you can also be a heavy minded, determined little guy- especially when it comes to doing something you don't like (using the potty). This week we went to Uncle Larry's for Jason's birthday and you did not want to put your coat on and you yelled and cried and ran around the house- Crazy I tell ya!

You enjoy your outings with Trish and this week made a visit to Drumlin farm- there are baby pigs at Drumlin farm and you told me that the piggies get their milk from their mommy. You described it so matter of factly it was adorable.

You have gotten into the habit of sleeping with mommy and daddy- around 3am you and your brother wake up and pile into our bed. This morning you were in your favorite onsie sleeping across the bed with your arms folded behind your head and you looked so peaceful. You slept for a while on your own up there.

In the newspapers: The federal government is seeking a jail sentence for Whitey Bulgers girl fried.
+ President Obama is running for re-election
+ Syrian shellings continue as UN observers reach massacre site
We just had some MASSIVE thunder storms here and now the sun is out. I'm going to leave work a bit early so that I can go home and play with you and your brother.

I love you Shane Kilday and I especially love when I pull into the driveway and you and Jackson run to the window and scream- Hi Mommy!!!!!!
You are mommy's sun, moon and stars Shane Kilday.
Love always-
Mommy

Jackson letter- June 2012

Dear Jackson-
You have been a busy boy Jackson Reid! You successfully finished your first year of pre-shcool and Mrs. Sacca described you as a leader and I also see that at home. Every day when you wake up the first thing you do is tell me if the sun is out or not then you ask if you have school? then you ask if Trish is coming? Is Nana coming? Every day you hit me with those statements/ questions. Then you go right into your I want to go downstairs bit- you stand at my bed and just repeatedly say: I want to go downstairs, I want to go downstairs..... When I get up you then proceed to ask ANOTHER series of questions about what I am doing- You are an inquisitive little guy! But for the most part your morning questions end when you get your orange juice and you start playing- this morning you were balancing your trucks on the castle perfectly.

You are fine to play by yourself and but love it when Shane is there to play with you. Jackson, you call your brother Shaney which I think is oh so cute! You and your brother still get along well but when you fight, you fight hard and push and bite each other- oh the drama we have at home!

We are still potty training at Payson Road- I bribe you to sit on the potty, you get a treat afterwards and you do a great job when you are on the potty but it is those in between times that we are working on. This seems to be taking up a large portion of our life right now- potty training and I will be glad when it is over and everyone uses the big potty on their own!

Spring has passed and summer is almost here and you LOVE to play outside- you would be outside all day every day if it was up to you. We have had a lot of rain lately and as soon as the rain stops you go to the window and yell: Mommy the rain stopped can we go out? Trish brings you places almost every day, you recently went to the farm and saw the baby pigs- you love the pigs!

I love you Jackson Reid! You are mommy's sun, moon and stars. Talk to you later aligator!

Love-
Mommy

Friends & "Girls"

We have seen the Cardinelli's recently, they came over for a BBQ and we had a great time. Jackson always hits it off with Carolanne- they play together and Jackson folllows her around (like he does with all of the older girls it seems). Above is a photo of all of the kids- CarolAnne, Ryan, Jackson (orange shirt), Shane (blue shirt) and Jason. Last night was Jason's 12th birthday party and S&J had a great time playing iwth Carolanne and Ryan. The "big kids" went outside and J&S just wanted to go outside after them. Michelle gave Jackson a foam airplane on the way home and Shane kept saying- that Jason's, that Jason's. Doesn't sound too cute here but it was at the time.

Last Day of School!

Can you believe it, today was the last day of school! I remember the first day dropping them off! I didn't even get to school today due to work- Trish was in command. An entire year has passed! I can't say that they "learned" a lot but I know that they did- how to play with other kids etc. Both Shane and Jackson love school and love it even more when Daddy is the parent helper!
