Dear Jackson-
Happy 7th Birthday! I can not believe that seven years have passed since you were in my belly and a little baby. You are one happy boy and this morning we had a special Birthday morning, just you and me! Mommy gets up early with Snowball and you came down around 5:30 and wanted to play monopoly- of course you were the blue steam ship, you love the game and even more love getting those chance cards! You will do anything (Sometimes you even cheat a little bit) to get a chance card. We had our juice and coffee, snuggled and you even helped me fold the laundry.
Jackson Reid you are turning into a fabulous young man and I love you with all of my heart. You are Mommy's sun, moon and stars, that means that you are everything to Mommy! First grade is going well for you, your teacher's name is Mrs. Nnyanzi and you appear to like her and your class. The numbers part of school- math and science clearly comes easily to you and I am seeing great progress with your letters and reading.
You do like your video games, MineCraft is your favorite at the moment but you also like the learning games on the Leap Frog so it is a happy medium for us. You get 1 hour of screen time per day and that seems to work. You keep busy outside of school- you love aftercare and this year are participating in the Inventor's Workshop and Mad Science at school. Outside of school you are participating in karate and soccer- you seem to like them all right but you are not enthralled with those two activities. You do however LOVE swimming and tell everyone that you can swim to the bottom of the pool! you are a little fish and are developing a very good front crawl stroke. You also enjoy your time at the MFA for weekend art lessons.
This year you dressed up as a storm trooper for halloween and we have been celebrating for about 2 weeks. Shane was really into decorating the house this year so we have spider webs on the bushes, a big spider, a witch and some grave stones adorning the front porch. Tonight, your birthday night we are going to a haunted house at the H.S. and then a concert. Halloween is this weekend, you are a strorm trooper, Shane is Darth Vader, I am princess Leah and Daddy is Bobo Fet- we make a great looking team :-)
I love you with all of my heart Jackson Reid, i know that getting older and bigger is part of life but we are having so much fun together at the moment I wish we could stay like this forever. Until my next letter Jackson, I love you and Happy Birthday!
Love-
Mommy
